The Journey of the Poong Jesus Nazareno
Before finding its permanent home in Anaheim, the Poong Jesus Nazareno began a journey of faith that would eventually help inspire the establishment of the Poong Jesus Nazareno Filipino Catholic Center.
These historic videos from February 2024 preserve two special moments: the blessing of the sacred image by then-Fr. Rufino “Jun” C. Sescon Jr., then Rector and Parish Priest of Quiapo Church and now Bishop of Balanga in Bataan, and the carrying of the Nazareno by the Hijos of Quiapo.
The Blessing of the Nazareno
February 2024 — The sacred image of the Poong Jesus Nazareno is blessed by then-Fr. Rufino “Jun” C. Sescon Jr., then Rector and Parish Priest of Quiapo Church, now Bishop of Balanga in Bataan.
